Capital of the Northeast
Artà is a village with 7500 inhabitants in the northeast of the island, in the so-called Llevant region. The narrow streets with their old houses reach up to almost under the large rock, which overlooks the whole village and - surprise - is crowned by a church.
The main road, the Carrer Ciutat, divides the village into two. Here are numerous restaurants and cafes with in summer crowded terraces, a supermarket and numerous small shops.
